About us
Founded in 2013 by Vikki Bruce and Charles MacLean MBE, MacLean & Bruce creates private journeys through Scotland and helps clients find, keep and bottle exceptional Scotch whisky.
It began when Charles and Vikki were asked to arrange a private whisky tour for a visiting senior royal guest. That tour became the template for everything since: personal connections, well away from the tourist trail, arranged with care.
The Bruce family has lived in Scotland for nearly a thousand years and today welcomes guests to Broomhall, its home in Fife. The same hospitality runs through every journey we create: you are received as a friend of the family, not a client.

Charles MacLean MBE has written more than twenty books on Scotch whisky, including Malt Whisky (1997). He is a Master of the Quaich, was appointed MBE in 2021 for services to Scotch whisky, UK exports and charity, and appeared in Ken Loach’s The Angels’ Share.
He hosts tastings and distillery visits for guests of every level, from the curious first-timer to the serious collector, with the history, characters and stories that only decades in the industry can give.

Founder & Managing Director
Vikki Bruce, a Keeper of the Quaich, spent a decade working in the whisky industry before founding MacLean & Bruce with Charles in 2013.
Vikki has been part of the Bruce family, whose home is Broomhall in Fife, for almost thirty years, and runs MacLean & Bruce day to day.
Commercial Director
Jamie Burke is a Director of MacLean & Bruce, bringing over 20 years of experience in the UK and international drinks industry. His career has included senior commercial roles with leading drinks companies, as well as ownership and management of Strathearn Distillery.
Jamie leads the whisky side of MacLean & Bruce, overseeing the sourcing and sale of exceptional Scotch whisky casks. His extensive industry knowledge, commercial experience and longstanding relationships are central to the continued growth of the business.
